KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 — Honda Malaysia will open three temporary service central hubs and 24 mobile hubs to help alleviate its dealers’ limited service capacities for the Takata airbag inflator replacement activity.
In a statement today, it said the hubs are at No 401, Jalan Dato’ Keramat, Georgetown, Penang (northern hub); Soo & Sons Metal Works Sdn Bhd in Petaling Jaya (central hub); and Oriental Assemblers Sdn Bhd (southern hub).
“These hubs will operate from Aug 1, 2016 to Sept 30, 2016, seven days a week except public holidays, and open from 8am to 7pm,” it said.
Customers can book their appointments with any of the service central hubs by calling the Honda toll free number 1-800-88-2020.
In addition, it said 24 mobile hubs will be set up at 21 selected Petron service stations and three Honda Family Road Trip locations from Aug 5, 2016 to Sept 25, 2016 and will be operational every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 7pm.
Meanwhile, it said customers will be compensated RM50 per day for the ‘loss of use of car’ during the waiting period for the replacement parts.
Customers are advised to register with Honda Malaysia at www.productrecall.honda.com.my for the compensation.
“The compensation period begins on July 28, 2016 until Aug 31, 2016,” it said.
Honda Malaysia said it would continue to inform customers of the importance of replacing the affected vehicles’ airbag inflators.
“Owners of Honda vehicles affected by airbag inflator product recall are advised to get their vehicles checked and parts replaced at any authorised Honda dealers as soon as possible,” it added. — Benama
