KUALA KRAI, March 2 — The School-Based Assessment (PBS), which is being revamped, will be teacher-friendly and teaching-oriented, said Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.
Formulated by academics, he said the PBS, which was being fine-tuned for implementation by April 1, would not burden teachers.
The people should evaluate the PBS once it is implemented and should not listen opposition lies and slanders about it, he told reporters after opening the education development seminar for the Dabong state constituency here today.
Meanwhile, Idris asked schools going through water rationing in Selangor to use water wisely.
“I leave it to teachers and principals' discretion whether to carry out school outdoor activities in view of the current dry spell.” he added.
On a report today that two syndicates allegedly held public and private university admission interviews, he said action would be taken against those involved for misrepresenting the ministry's logo.
Idris said Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates should check with principals and state or district education offices if there were such offers from the ministry.
The syndicate, which allegedly charged SPM candidates RM500 to attend the interviews, also used the Malaysian Qualifications Agency logo. — Bernama
