KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — Honesty is indeed the best policy.

This is the case for a seller in Kluang, Johor, who was applauded online after they had taken to Facebook to apologise for selling a bad batch of tepung pelita.

The seller who posted the apology via Facebook community page “Aku Budak Kluang”, is calling out to those who had received a ruined batch of their sweet delicacy on Monday (April 3).

They have also agreed to compensate their buyers for the mishap.

“To those who had bought tepung pelita from us last Monday at the Bandar Kluang Bazaar, if you’ve received a ruined batch of tepung pelita, please contact us for a refund.

“We have received several complaints regarding this. It seems that the batch was too soft which made it easy to slip out of its case.

“We apologise again for the inconvenience. We will keep on working to improve the quality of our products. Thank you all for your feedback,” they wrote in the post.

The Facebook post, which garnered over a thousand likes, also saw some buyers praising the seller for their honesty in the comment section.

Meanwhile, others can be seen praising the taste despite its extra soft texture.

“It's okay, I’ve already eaten it. Tastes good and thank you for your honesty. Will repeat for my third time,” commented user Emirasapura Saaidin.

“Their tepung pelita is good. Even though it’s ruined, I don’t mind it because it still tasted good,” added user Mohd Adham.

“A responsible seller indeed,” commented user Ching Yen.
