KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 — The newly introduced Swift RS, which Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd defines as Reinvent Style, is expected to boost the Swift sales — available only in white and based on the standard 1.4 litre locally assembled Suzuki Swift.

Classified as a new variant by Suzuki Malaysia, the Swift RS features a black and red gradient rooftop, side body decals, a stylish red lining on the body kit, a rear roof spoiler, LED Daylight Running Lights (DRL), and 16-inch “gun metallic” alloy wheels. To distinguish it from the standard version, the new variant carries an “RS” badge on the tailgate.

Keiichi Suzuki, managing director of Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd, said at the launch: “In line with Suzuki’s brand philosophy of delivering excitement, the Swift RS brings stand-out style to Malaysian streets and appeals to youthful drivers wishing to reflect their vibrant personality in their car’s appearance.”

The re-styling extends to the interior, with black and red leather seats and red stripes on the door trims. In addition, a 2-Din touch-screen audio system complete with a reverse camera, Bluetooth, and True Mirroring with Smart phone.

Drive is to the front wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include Dual SRS airbags, ABS, EBD and BA, in addition to ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid discs at the rear.

The Swift RS is available only in automatic transmission form, and retails at RM79,388.00 (Pen Malaysia), RM85,140.00 (Sarawak), and RM85,124 (Sabah). Prices are OTR (on-the-road) without insurance.
