SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 14 ― Google has announced the upcoming release of three new Chromebooks specifically designed for gamers, with tailored performance and optimal access to several online gaming platforms.
Chromebooks, usually intended for study or remote work, are extending their scope to video gaming. Three new models from Acer, Asus and Lenovo, expected this fall, have been designed specifically for gamers.
These three Chromebooks will be equipped with high-resolution screens with a refresh rate of 120 frames per second, immersive sound and all are Wi-Fi 6 compatible. The idea is to be able to play games like Fortnite, Cyberpunk 2077, League of Legends and Crysis 3 Remastered online and hassle-free on all of these computers. In total, Google promises access to more than 1,500 games via various online platforms, such as Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Amazon Luna. However, this news comes shortly after the announcement of the shutdown of Stadia, Google's own on-demand video game platform.
These computers should be available for order by the end of October 2022. Finally, it should be noted that various accessories, such as headsets and wireless mice, will soon complete this offer, thanks to partnerships with peripherals manufacturers including Corsair, HyperX and SteelSeries.
