KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — Negri Sembilan advanced its lead atop the Premier League, after a 1-0 win over Perlis at the Tunku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi last night.
Khairul Anwar Shahrudin’s goal in the 62nd minute enabled the Deer squad to grab all three points to stay on top with 32 points.
Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur went up to second place with 29 points after a 2-1 win over MISC-MIFA at the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam yesterday evening.
Jose Parlo placed the 'The City Boys' squad in front in the 28th minute before Manaf Mamat doubled the lead in the 34th minute, while MISC-MIFA only managed to reduce the deficit through Brazilian import Luiz Eduardo Purcino in the 60th minute.
Terengganu, meanwhile, failed to produce a result at home, drawing 2-2 against Johor Darul Ta'zim II at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu.
The result saw Terengganu drop to fourth place from second on 28 points, with PKNP FC sitting above them in third, on goal difference.
The Southern Tigers squad went ahead with two early goals from England-born Alex Smith in the fourth minute and Muhd Syazwan Andik Mohd Ishak (10th minute), however the Turtles squad managed to equalise through goals from Mohd Faiz Mohd Nasir (46th minute) and K. Partiban (50th minute).
PKNP recorded a 1-0 win over UiTM FC at the Perak Stadium, Ipoh, through South Korean import Hyeon Woo Kim’s goal in the 42nd minute.
