BARCELONA, August 3 — Russia’s Yuliya Efimova set a world record in the women’s 50 metres breaststroke in her heat at the world championships in Barcelona today.
Efimova clocked a time of 29.78 seconds to beat the previous best of 29.80 set by American Jessica Hardy — swimming alongside Efimova in the same heat today — in 2009. — Reuters
