LOS ANGELES, May 15 — Macy Gray has revealed in an interview that she is readying the release of her 10th studio album, Ruby.

Gray told Billboard that Ruby is being prepared for a fall release and will be “super R&B.”

“Sonically, it is beautiful. It has all sorts of [fusions]. There are a lot of live instruments. We mixed it with samples. We had a ball. But, it is very different. At the same time, it is excellent ear candy. It is actually very pop. Still, it is gritty and grimy and dirty,” she said.

The singer-songwriter likewise revealed that a music video is due out at the end of the month and that it stars US actor and musician Evan Ross.

A tour in support of Ruby is also in the works. Gray told Billboard: “We are going to go crazy. We do this short New York and DC run. Then, we are going to go kind of around the states in August and September. We are going to do a real tour, [then head to] Europe in October and November.”

Macy Gray released her debut album, On How Life Is, in 1999, and she is best-known for the Grammy-winning song I Try, which appeared on that album. Her most recent album, Stripped, was a jazz-focused LP that released in 2016. — AFP-Relaxnews
