KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — Nobody can stop them now!

Malaysian pop band Paperplane Pursuit broke into the famous Billboard chart in early September, and they have stayed on the chart for six weeks, and is now at number 30!

On 3 September, their super catchy song “Feel Good” made it to the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 Indicator Chart at number 40 – the same chart which has big international names like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, One Direction and more!

They have stayed on the chart for six weeks and have now climbed to number 30, beating big-named artistes like Adam Lambert, Maroon 5, Little Mix and Jess Glyne, while slightly behind other popular artistes like Meghan Trainor, Drake and A Great Big World.

Formed in 2009, Paperplane pursuit is made up of vocalist John O, drummer Andrew Yap and guitarist Isaac Ravi. They recently released a new song titled “Who’s Gonna Stop Me?”

1. Zee Avi

Malaysian pop-rock singer Zee Avi’s self-titled debut album was named one of the Top 10 Albums of 2009 by Associated Press along with other albums by famous artistes such as Mariah Carey, Jay Z, Norah Jones and The Black Eyed Peas. Two of her singles “Swell Window” and “Concrete Wall” were featured in Season 5 of the hit television series “Gossip Girl”.

2. Salammusik

Award-winning Malaysian reggae-rock band Salammusik have been winning a number of awards in Malaysia for their unique blend traditional tune with modern beats. The ten-member band has toured and performed at several European festivals including Zwarte Cross Festival, Solar Weekend, Zomer van Antwerpen Festival, Landjuweel Festival and Woodstock69.

3. Bunkface

Pop-punk trio Bunkface is also one of the popular Malaysian bands which have promoted their music internationally. They have previously performed in Australia’s One Movement For Music Perth festival, they toured in UK, and also performed at Hong Kong Asia Music Festival. The band recently participated in one of Japan’s famous rock festivals, the Summer Sonic Festival. — The Hive Asia
