LONDON, June 6 — A few days before launching his new album “Lazaretto,” the ex-White Stripes front man has shared the video for the title track.

Arty and esthetically pleasing in black and white, the “Lazaretto” video sets the tone for Jack White’s eponymous album due for release on June 9. Directed by Jonas & François, the piece is a reflection of the artist’s musical style: frenzied and slightly twisted.

Behind floating shards of glass and a pane shattered by bullets and baseballs, the singer (elegant as always in his tailored suit) shares the spotlight with raging bulls, skulls, snakes and exploding guitars.

A dancing transvestite and a man with the “Lazaretto” album artwork tattooed across his chest also make an appearance in this cluster of weird images, which is in line with the artist’s quirky world.

“Lazaretto” is Jack White’s second solo LP and follows “Blunderbuss,” released in 2012.
