PORT KLANG, Aug 11 — Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has arrived at the Boustead Cruise Centre Terminal to visit the docked superyacht Equanimity today.

Dr Mahathir, who arrived at 11.30am, was welcomed by Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu.

Dr Mahathir is expected to spend an hour on the ship before giving a press conference following the visit.

He was escorted in a golf buggy to the jetty where the superyacht was docked before boarding it.

Also present for the visit were Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, lawyer representing the Attorney General Chambers Sitpah Selvaratnam, Armed Forces Chief General Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun and Federal Special Branch director Datuk Abdul Hamid Bador.

The US$250 million (RM1.02 billion) yacht is currently docked at the Boustead Cruise Centre Terminal after arriving from Indonesia on Tuesday.

The Cayman Islands-flagged Equanimity was seized by Indonesian authorities on February 28 in Bali at the request of US authorities as part of a multi-billion-dollar corruption investigation launched by the US Department of Justice related to 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
