KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — Political party flags were still being placed near Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) power substations even after yesterday’s incident which saw four men being seriously injured after being electrocuted in Johor by a high tension wire.

Malay Mail spotted the party flags around a TNB electrical substation in Kampung Pandan today.

The flags were fixed around the substation and also around the wiring and supply box.

Some party flags were even fixed on the barbed fences with clear high voltage warning signs below them.

The four men were electrocuted on early Sunday morning in Muar, Johor after trying to fix a flag on a high voltage wire using a bamboo pole, and were thrown several meters away due to the shock.

TNB had warned political parties earlier this month not to fix flags on any of its premises or installations, warning that doing so would also be a violation of the Electricity Supply Act 1990.

In the incident yesterday, the four men were injured after they came in contact with a high tension wire while trying to put up political party flags in Kampung Parit Yusof.

One of them suffered broken ribs while the rest sustained minor injuries.
