PETALING JAYA, Oct 13 — Rafizi Ramli has dismissed speculation that he is being removed as PKR secretary-general, likening this to previous false claims of him having an affair with his cat.
"I don't have to respond because it's not true. It's not true at all," Rafizi told a press conference at the PKR headquarters here today.
"In the past, there were very untrue things like I had an affair with my cat," he added.
PKR deputy president Azmin Ali told reporters Sunday after a central leadership council meeting that there was no discussion about removing Rafizi as secretary-general, dismissing the rumours as slander by political enemies.
On October 9, news portal The Malaysian Insider quoted an anonymous senior PKR leader as saying that some in PKR wanted Rafizi axed after conflict in the party over the formation of the new opposition pact, Pakatan Harapan, that comprises PKR, DAP and PAS splinter group Amanah.
