KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 — Two Catholic nuns were attacked by robbers outside the Church of the Visitation in Seremban, Negri Sembilan today.

The assault, said to have happened early in the morning just after prayers, left at least one critically injured, news portal Free Malaysia Today reported.

Citing an unnamed priest, the news portal reported the nuns are Julianna Lim Nyo Nya, 69, and Marie-Rose Teng, 79.

Lim reportedly underwent emergency surgery at the Seremban General Hospital.

In a Facebook posting, the Seremban church urged its members to pray for the two nuns, especially “Sister Juliana, an IJ nun who was hurt in a robbery this morning.”

“She is quite critical at the red zone GH Seremban. The doctors attending to her have asked to inform relatives,” it added.

Seremban police are reportedly investigating the attack after receiving a report by a church member.
