JAKARTA, March 9 ― The Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) has ordered five warships and a helicopter to help search for the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370, which disappeared enroute to Beijing, early yesterday morning.
TNI-AL Chief of Staff, Admiral Marsetio said he had contacted the Malaysian Royal Navy (TLDM) commander Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar on the matter.
“They (TLDM) have requested for our help to find the MAS aircraft which was reported uncontactable,” said Marsetio to Antara today.
“We are also in touch and share information with our international colleagues in this mission,” he said.
The MAS aircraft, disappeared on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing about an hour after departing from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 12.41am yesterday.
There were 239 passengers, including two children and 12 crew aboard the aircraft.
The aircraft should have landed in Beijing at 6.30am. ― Bernama
