HONG KONG, Feb 9 ― Hong Kong's Harbour Arts Sculpture Park has revealed the works it will feature when it opens later this month, bringing world-class art to the city's harbourfront.

Opening from February 22 to April 11, the sculpture park will offer a free exhibition of work by international artists against the background of the Hong Kong skyline.

This week, organisers revealed a list of 19 local and international artists set to participate, including Yayoi Kusama, Tracey Emin, Jenny Holzer, Antony Gormley and Zhan Wang. More than a quarter of the artists are from Hong Kong.

Sculptures by participating artists will dot the skyline in the Central and Wan Chai districts of the city, with bran-new works coming from Rasheed Araeen, Tracey Emin, Morgan Wong and Ho Kwun Ting.

Co-curator Fumio Nanjo says an aim of the park is to bring about a greater presence of public art in Hong Kong.

“As Harbour Arts Sculpture Park demonstrates how art can be part of our everyday lives, I believe that a public art project of this quality and scale shall pave the way for more exhibitions of a similar nature in Hong Kong in the future, and will encourage more artists around the world to take part in projects here.”
