LOS ANGELES, June 6 — Universal Pictures has unleashed a fresh trailer for its upcoming action/crime thriller American Made, starring Tom Cruise.

The film, directed by Doug Liman, is based on the true story of real-life American pilot and hustler Barry Seal, who was recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in history, against infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar.

Seasoned with comedy and packing a big punch of action, the explosive two-minute trailer sees Seal (Cruise) in a number of sticky situations and documents the colourful life he led as a covert operative.

The film — which debuts in cinemas on September 29 — also stars Sarah Wright, as Seal’s wife, Lucy, and Domhnall Gleeson as Monty Schafer, a CIA operative who enlists Seal’s services (via The Hollywood Reporter). — AFP-Relaxnews
