LOS ANGELES, May 12 — Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are backing Game Over, Man!, a comedy about unlikely friends who end up having to rescue a billionaire from terrorists.

Led by three actors coming in from Comedy Central’s Workaholics and counting a Superbad, Pineapple Express and Neighbours pairing among its producers, Game Over, Man! is aiming straight for an April 20 release in 2018.

The date is significant, with “420” a slang term for cannabis consumption and, in particular, an informal annual celebration held on the 20th day of the 4th month, April 20th.

Pineapple Express dealt with stoner themes and Game Over, Man! is doing the same, as is evident with its first trailer from Netflix.

Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, and Anders Holm play three low-level hotel employees whose day jobs contrast with their dreams of becoming successful video game developers (hence the movie’s title.)

A wealthy hotel visitor offers to fund their ambitions but in order to make good on the deal, the underachieving trio are going to have to rescue him from the terrorists that have swept in and taken him hostage.

Holm wrote the script and it’s Workaholics director Kyle Newacheck who helms the film. Jere Burns of Angie Tribeca, Justified and Burn Notice, and Mac Brandt of Prison Break and Kingdom are also involved. — AFP-Relaxnews
