LOS ANGELES, Nov 10 — The creator of the eight-minute short wanted it to be “a kick-ass sci-fi action film in the vein of The Terminator and Aliens.”

As battle rages between humans and sentient androids, a Delta Force unit is sent to retrieve the President from Washington after his helicopter went down under fire.

“Singularity” is the third directorial effort from Samuel Jorgensen, a digital effects artist who has contributed to “Divergent”, “Thor: The Dark World” and “Men in Black 3” since his first two shorts “Katie’s Journey” (2008) and “The Fish” (2009).

Crowdfunding enabled Jorgensen and production partner Jeremy Pronk (“Mad Max: Fury Road”) to finish the film, with $10,000 raised by the end of a 2012 Kickstarter campaign, and Twitchfilm highlighting the video’s November 8 availability. — AFP-Relaxnews
