KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 — Perodua expects its accessories sales contribution to the after sales segment to increase by two to three per cent this year with the launch of its own line of accessories under the brand name ‘GearUp’.

President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said accessories sales currently contributed about 10 per cent yearly to the company’s after sales segment.

“We are targeting only a three per cent contribution this year as we’ve just launched Axia accessories and it’s already April. We’re going to launch MyVi and Alza accessories later.

“For next year, we expect these new accessories to contribute between 15 and 16 per cent to the after sales segment,” he told reporters after the launch of GearUp accessories here, today.

Aminar also expects up to 90 per cent Axia buyers to fix the accessories upon purchasing the car.

The accessories, including exterior and interior cosmetic enhancement packages priced from RM260 to RM3,600, will be available at all Perodua 182 sales and 183 service centres nationwide starting Friday.  Meanwhile, Aminar said Perodua maintains its 2015 sales target of 208,000 units although its car prices had been reduced amid the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

“We’ll wait for the market to stabilise after the GST before reviewing our sales target this year,” he said.
