KUCHING, Nov 18 — With one more day to polling day, Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan today made a special appeal to Sarawakian voters to support its candidates who are contesting in this 15th general election (GE15).

He said he is contesting Bandar Kuching, Lue Cheng Hing in Stampin and Priscilla Lau in Lanang, all under Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) ticket, while Ryan Sim Min Leong is using the party’s logo in Mas Gading.

He urged Sarawakians not to give their votes to the DAP candidates, saying a seat won by “an alien” party is a seat taken away from the state.

“The DAP only serves the interest of Malaya first, not Sarawak. For this reason, despite the promises made, they have ignored fulfilling their 20 per cent oil royalty for Sarawak made in the 2018 general election,” he said in a statement.

He said the DAP Members of Parliament from Sarawak will only listen to their bosses in the peninsula “otherwise, they will be sacked from the party.”

Voon also reminded the voters that a vote for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is also a vote in support of Malaya, saying that the state coalition, then known as Barisan Nasional, had always aligned themselves with Umno since Malaysia came into existence.

“Voters should fear that GPS may help Umno to return to power in this election because they have never rejected Umno with many of its leaders riddled with corruption cases,” he said.

He said even if GPS may be part of the federal government after GE15, it will not be able to act independently from the decision of the federal cabinet, which will be controlled by ministers from Malaya.

“With all problems Sarawak faced from the federal government and from Malaya, the solution for Sarawakians is to vote for PBK candidates because we are prepared to file private members motions in Parliament on Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and Petroleum Development Act 1974 (PDA74) so that Sarawak will restore all her rights,” he said.
