KAJANG, April 14 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak gives his assurance that water, garbage and dengue problems facing the people in Selangor will be resolved if Barisan Nasional (BN) is given the mandate to helm the state in the 14th general election (GE14).

In his speech when launching the ground breaking ceremony for upgrading of Kajang Hospital Women and Children’s Complex here today, he said it would be meaningless to build a modern hospital in the state if there were always water supply disruption.

“The question on water will be given the most priority. The question on garbage is also important, we give it second priority. We do not want Selangor to be known as ‘darul sampah’ or ‘darul dengue’.

“Dengue problem will also be given priority and I give the assurance that these problems will be resolved,” he said.

The prime minister then gave a pantun to show BN’s commitment to provide the best service for the people if it wins in GE14.

The pantun reads:

Tercari terowong di Pulau Pinang (Looking for a tunnel in Penang)

Terjumpa baldi di negeri Selangor (Found a pail in Selangor)

Barisan Nasional kena menang (Barisan Nasional must win)

Barulah rakyat aman makmur” (Only then the people will live in peace and harmony)

Meanwhile, Najib said there were two different Kajang Move, with the first carried out in 2014, but failed to meet its objective.

“It did not meet the objective although Azizah (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) won (in the Kajang state by-election), but it created a huge crisis in the Selangor government and inconvenienced the people in having to hold the by-election,” he said.

Najib said the Kajang Move that brought benefit to the people was from BN when he went on his walkabout and provided the best infrastructure facility for the people, such as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project and upgrading of Kajang Hospital. — Bernama
