BUTTERWORTH, Nov 1 ― A four-month-old male foetus was found trapped at the Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) sewage treatment plant in Bandar Perai Jaya, here today.

Seberang Perai Tengah (SPT) police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said it was found by an IWK contractor who was doing cleaning work at the plant at about 10am.

“The foetus was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital and the police would get the footage of a closed circuit television (CCTV)  recording of the area to facilitate investigation,” he said here today.

In another development, Nik Ros Azhan said police detained a 21-year-old man, suspected responsible for several car break-in cases in the district, in a raid at Jalan Mengkung, Bukit Mertajam yesterday.

“Police also seized were various items, believed to have been stolen, such as bags, identity cards and Touch ‘n’ Go cards,” he said, adding that the man tested positive for drugs.

He said police were looking for the man’s accomplices, known as Man Kuda and Chaq. ― Bernama
