PETALING JAYA, June 16 — OCBC Bank Berhad has given its support for national unity initiatives through a RM15,000 sponsorship for the Run for National Unity 2017.

Its senior vice president and head of corporate and commercial banking, Jeffrey Teoh, said philanthropy had been part of the organisation’s culture as evident in its past initiatives, including last year’s maiden Run for National Unity.

“Our participation will not only be by way of financial sponsorship but also by active staff participation. We had fun last year and we look forward to the same this year,” he told Malay Mail.

“We are looking to underline our support for national unity initiatives like this that creatively mesh the spirit of oneness through running.”

Teoh extended an open invitation to all intending participants  of the Run for National Unity to take advantage of the bi-monthly OCBC KL Car-Free Morning held from 7am to 9am every first and third Sunday of each month at Dataran DBKL.

“The route of our KL Car-Free Morning covers over 7km, which makes it the perfect training ground for those who wish to participate in the run,” he said.

“Beginning on Sunday, there will be six such sessions before the run on Sept 16. Do take advantage of these occasions when the streets are free of cars.”
