KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 — The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will study and investigate obscene elements in the Upin dan Ipin animation series carried out by irresponsible parties.

The action was taken following a Bernama exclusive item yesterday on the character of ‘Ros’, a fierce sister in the animation series which was exploited with extreme sexy illustrations.

“From initial information gathered, the obscene images are from print screens of the original series which had been altered to become lewd pictures.

“For the time being, MCMC is tracking down the parties responsible for modifying and uploading the content for further action,” said MCMC in a statement here today.

MCMC also called on members of the public with information on the matter to come forward to assist investigations. — Bernama
