KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 — Cab Auto Bus Sdn Bhd (CAB) is set to launch ‘2Go’ taxi service application in August this year, to help the registered taxi drivers improve taxi services in the federal capital.
Its executive chairman Tengku Hasmadi Tengku Hashim said the application also seeks to improve the comfort, convenience and the safety of passengers.
“Passengers can make easier taxi booking via online and now have various options and not only focused on one taxi application.
“The app is empowered with the latest facilities for customers such as easily accessible, cashless payment, low fares and insurance coverage,” he told reporters after the memorandum signing ceremony between CAB and the Klang Valley Taxi Drivers Association here today.
He said initially CAB would provide the opportunity for about 5,000 taxi owners to use the application and their taxis will be maintained to enable them to provide the best service.
“CAB is cooperating with 15 taxi associations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to restore the image of taxi drivers and limousine especially those taking passengers in Klang Valley and compete with the illegal taxi service.
“CAB will also provide subsidies for taxi drivers for vehicle maintenance in panel workshops at a cheap price,” he said.
He said the app has also meet the standard of the Land Public Transport Commission (Spad) and the Ministry of Transport. — Bernama
