KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 — The police have detained an Indonesian immigrant in connection with at least 15 cases of house break-ins in Pandan Indah.
The 32-year-old suspect was picked up from a house in Pandan Jaya on May 31, following police surveillance for several months.
Ampang Jaya police chief Hamzah Alias said the police seized an assortment of house break-in tools and drug-related paraphernalia from the suspect who was remanded for nine days.
“Based on our investigations, we found the man was involved in at least 15 cases of house break-ins between January and March.
“The suspect had targeted apartments in Pandan Indah where no security guard was stationed,” he told a press conference at the Ampang Jaya police headquarters here today.
He said the police were also tracking down another Indonesian nicknamed ‘Beni’, who was linked to similar break-ins. — Bernama
