TEMERLOH, Sept 9 — Kuala Semantan state assemblyman Syed Hamid Syed Mohamed today announced his resignation from PAS to join the Malaysian Workers Party.

Syed Hamid, 63, who is the former Pahang PAS commissioner, said he no longer considered PAS to be a conducive and exclusive party for all levels of society.

Also present at his news conference was Dr Hamzah Jaafar, Pahang chairman of Parti Amanah Negara which has applied for registration as a political party. — Bernama
