PETALING JAYA, Jan 7 — The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to postpone its decision on seven Kuala Lumpur players suspected of being involved in corruption and match-fixing.

FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said on the other hand, the committee would call on the remaining 10 players and officers, including former Kuala Lumpur team manager Datuk George Frederick, to complete investigations into the scandal which hit the city squad.

“I will only speak about the decision after all of them have completed testifying before the committee...and apart from that, I have no further comment.

“The committee is of the view that it is not appropriate for me to announce the decision now, as I need to handle other disciplinary cases,” he told reporters here today.

Earlier, five Kuala Lumpur players testified with Azizon Abdul Kadir and Benedict Martin on Dec 27, while Syazwan Rani, J. Mughilan Kartik and Azwan Jatin gave their statements on January 3.

Commenting further, Taufik said the remaining 10 players and officers would be called to give their statements before the committee after the FAM Legal Department issued the letters.
