KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 — No, this is not an April's Fool Day joke.

Actor Robert Downey Jr’s chewing gum was listed for sale on eBay for a lofty RM179,000, New York Post recently reported.

An eBay user claimed to have collected the 57-year-old’s chewing gum, even asking potential buyers to conduct a DNA test for verification.

The user allegedly collected gum that was jokingly placed by Robert on director Jon Favreau’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star during a ceremony on February 13.

Robert delivered a speech for his Iron Man director Favreau in commemoration of their friendship and past collaborations.

The lucky non-squeamish winning bidder will receive the grey gunk in a small plastic container, no returns or refunds allowed.

According to the listing page, the gum will only be shipped to Canada or the United States.

The user named jvanilla-59 also claimed that all proceeds of the listing will be given to Canadian evangelistic youth outreach, Cyrus Centre.

According to the user, the programme helps to keep homeless youth safe from abusive families.

“They need the money more than I do. If you can support them as well, please do. Thank you.”
