KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) on Bursa Malaysia opened lower this morning, dragged down by losses in selected heavyweights.
At 9.26am, the FBM KLCI was 3.89 points easier at 1,872.8 points, after opening 2.59 points lower at 1,874.1.
Decliners edged advancers 178 to 173, while 262 counters were unchanged, 995 untraded and 11 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 347.46 million shares worth RM138.21 million.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index fell 32.68 points to 17,413.97, the Industrial Index shed 5.01 points to 3,204.75 and the Plantation Index declined 6.34 points to 8,954.41.
The FBM Emas Index decreased 24.35 points to 13,096.66, the FBMT100 Index depreciated 25.05 points to 12,657.92, the FBM 70 trimmed 23.78 points to 14,372.75, while the FBM Ace firmed 18.62 points to 7,152.29.
For the heavyweights, Sime Darby and Petronas Chemicals both added two sen each to RM9.53 and RM6.71, respectively.
Maybank, TNB and CIMB slid three sen each to RM9.96, RM12.36 and 7.03 respectively, while Public Bank and Axiata went down six sen to RM19.82 and RM6.91.
Among actives, Sumatec and AT Systematization were each one sen higher at 48 sen and 11 sen, while KPS Consortium rose six sen to 65 sen.
