SERDANG, Sept 28 — A quiet but steady stream of mourners arrived at the Seri Kembangan residence of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to pay their last respects to his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, who died earlier today.

Police personnel stood guard around the home as family members, friends and dignitaries arrived, some in groups and others in twos, threes or alone.

Dr Hasmah’s remains arrived at the residence in The Mines at about 11.15am from the National Heart Institute, where family members and guests gathered in the living room to offer prayers and condolences.

Dr Mahathir was present with several of their children, including Datin Marina, Tan Sri Mokhzani and Datuk Seri Mukhriz.

Among those who arrived was Pahang Sultan Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, accompanied by his wife and son.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil were also among those who arrived to offer prayers and condolences.
