KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — Malaysia recorded 5,854 infections in the last 24 hours, according to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Following the data made available by the Ministry of Health, cases today show a slight decrease from the 6,060 reported yesterday.

Malaysia also recorded 6,715 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing active Covid-19 cases to 70,058 and the overall total to 2,466,663.

Of the cases reported today, just 1.3 per cent were in Categories 3, 4 and 5 that required hospitalisation.

Currently, 570 individuals were being treated in intensive care units while 293 required breathing aid.

Two new Covid-19 clusters were detected in the last 24 hours while 438 others remain active.

For vaccination, 147,242 doses were administered today, with 18,423 being for first doses, 123,182 for second doses, and 5,567 for boosters.

So far, 49,581,855 vaccinations have been administered, with 74 per cent of the country’s population fully vaccinated.
