KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 ― Malaysia is one of the top five most satisfying countries to work in for the world’s expatriate community, according to the latest survey by offshore financial services provider HSBC Expat.

About 41 per cent of foreigners who had relocated to Malaysia for work said they felt Southeast Asia’s third-largest economy to be the best place to learn new skills, while 62 per cent of expats in Russia voiced similar sentiments, followed by 55 per cent in China.

“The majority of expats living in the Philippines (57%), Malaysia (55%), Indonesia (54%) and mainland China (53%) all say they have found their work to be more fulfilling since relocating, compared with less than 15% in these countries who say the opposite,” the findings of the HSBC Expat Explorer Survey (Balancing Life Abroad) 2015 said.

According to the findings, the ease of fitting in with local colleagues contributed to this high rating by expats, with 65 per cent and 62 per cent of the expats in the Philippines and Indonesia saying that they integrate well with the local community.
