NILAI, Sept 11 — An Indonesian couple was found dead in a hut at a dragon fruit farm at the 12th Mile, Mantin, near here, today.
The husband and wife, both in their 30s who worked at the farm, were believed to have been assaulted with a hard and blunt object.
Their bodies were found by the wife of the owner of the farm, Tan Chong Kok, 44, when they went to collect dragon fruits at 12.30pm.
“Normally, I will sound the car horn and they will come out to hand me the fruits which they had gathered. But they did not emerge today although I had sounded the horn many times. So, I told my wife to go and check their hut.
“My wife went to the hut and was shocked to find the husband lying on a bench in a room of the hut with blood on his head.
“His wife was sprawled on her back on the floor with injuries to her head and face. She is believed to be pregnant,” Tan (Chong Kok) told reporters at the scene.
State CID acting chief Supt Khoo Leng Huat said there was no information on the identities of the victims as no identification documents were available.
He said the motive for the double murders had yet to be ascertained and would be investigated from all angles.
“Investigations show the victims had worked at the farm for a year-and-a-half. The bodies were sent to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital for post-mortem,” he added.
He urged aynone with information on the case to contact the Nilai District Police Headquarters at 06-7583222 or investigation officer DSP Affendy Sulaiman at 012-6788174 or the nearest police station. — Bernama
