KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 — The wife of rock singer Awie has filed an application to set aside the temporary custody of their three children obtained by her husband on July 21.
Lawyer Majdah Muda, representing Rozana Misbun, 36, told Syariah High Court judge Mohd Azman Mat Zain today that the application was filed on August 8.
She said Rozana also applied to revoke an ex-parte injunction obtained by Awie, whose real name is Ahmad Azhar Othman, on July 16, barring her from coming into contact with him and the children, be it through the print or electronic media.
However, Awie’s lawyer, Mohd Hafizal Parcho, objected to Rozana’s application and would submit a preliminary objection on grounds that she had breached court procedures for filing the application more than 14 days after the order was granted.
The court set September 17 for Mohd Hafizal to submit his preliminary objection and a decision would be made the following day.
Prior to this, Rozana had obtained an Interim Protection Order against Awie for allegedly hurting her.
The rock singer and Rozana tied the knot in Songhkla, Thailand, on June 20, 2005. They have three children, sons Putra Ahmad Merrah, seven, and Putra Ahmad Rezzki, six, and daughter, Puteri Qasseh Antasha, four.
On July 4 this year, Awie, the main actor in the films, “Zombie Kampung Pisang” and “Hantu Kak Limah”, was charged under the Penal Code with voluntarily causing grievous hurt to Rozana at a house in Taman Ukay Bistari. — Bernama
