KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 — LED road signs deliver messages to help ease the burden of drivers from traffic congestion, construction sites and accidents.
However, one sign near Haji Ali, Mumbai in India reminded oncoming motorists to ‘smoke weed everyday’.
Twitter user Akshat Deora posted a video on Tuesday (Dec 20) of a red LED diversion sign flashing the bizarre message.

Garnering over 5,000 views, the video has attracted the attention of online users who were puzzled as to why a road sign would display such a message.
“Nice message for motorists on Mumbai road. Telling them to try something new and different,” one online user joked.
“Even if it was preceded by a ‘do not’, why ‘every day’?” another person wrote.
Other online users mentioned a famous internationally known rapper who may know the answer.

The cause of the diversion sign’s unconventional message remains unknown as of writing.
Those who appreciate the sign’s message will be disheartened to know that marijuana use and possession are illegal in India, even in small quantities.
Cannabis is strictly prohibited according to the laws of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 (NDPS).
However, the government is planning to amend the act to decriminalise the possession of small quantities of drugs in an effort to reduce the heavy measures of fines and imprisonment.
