GENEVA, March 7 — At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Rolls-Royce will be showcasing the full breadth of its in-house Bespoke capabilities embodied in a vehicle called the Elegance — a Ghost model that features the ultimate expression of luxury with the world’s first diamond paint finish.

The prestigious UK company will be showing Geneva show visitors various aspects of the Bespoke service during the event, with one patron allowing Rolls-Royce to demonstrate in concrete form to the Geneva crowds that the marque can fulfil a client’s desire for a truly personal motor car and even “create the unimaginable.”

Rolls-Royce has created a paint made from 1,000 ethically-sourced crushed diamonds. Named ‘Diamond Stardust’, and created for an individual collector’s commission, this is the most luxurious and lustrous exterior ever seen on a motor car, and the most expensive paint to grace the body of a Rolls-Royce.

The process required two months of intensive testing to achieve the desired effect. The density and strength of the diamonds created a challenge for the team to produce an easy marriage with the clear paint. The result allowed the paint to spread evenly over the surface, leaving the diamonds undetectable to the touch.

Meanwhile for the younger, edgier client Rolls-Royce is also showing a Wraith Black Badge at the Geneva show. First seen last year and designed to show that Bespoke is not simply a cosmetic exercise for the company, Black Badge is the alter ego of the marque.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce said, “Black Badge is an attitude to life, an aspect of the Rolls-Royce brand that appeals to those people who are elusive and defiant, the risk takers and disruptors who break the rules and laugh in the face of convention. They are driven by a restless spirit. They play hard and they change the world.”

Rolls Royce is also presenting its full Spring/Summer 2017 Couture collection, called ‘Dawn — Inspired by Fashion’, a collection of three color schemes for the vehicle that nod to the trend of colour-blocking while embracing a “simplified, classic style.” — AFP-Relaxnews
