KUCHING, Oct 25 — Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg yesterday attended the Premier/Menteris Besar/Chief Ministers Meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya yesterday.
The two-and-a-half hour meeting started at 2pm and was chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
A posting on the Premier of Sarawak’s official Facebook page ‘Sarawakku’ said as part of the meeting’s agenda, Abang Johari was given a slot to brief the sitting on Sarawak’s development over the past 60 years, and the way forward as outlined under the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
He also briefed those in attendance on Sarawak’s high-income status and the renewable energy development initiatives.
"The Premier was given the honour by the Prime Minister to brief the Menteris Besar and Chief Ministers on Sarawak’s economy that had been recognised by the federal government as being ahead of other states in terms of sustainability and the development of a green economy,” read the post.
Previously, Abang Johari had also given a similar briefing to the federal cabinet when it sat in Kuching in conjunction with this year’s Malaysia Day celebration on Sept 16 that was hosted by Sarawak.
Accompanying the premier at the meeting was State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki. — Borneo Post Online
