SINGAPORE, Feb 17 — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is “looking well, and in good spirits” after his prostate surgery, said Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean on Facebook today after he and some other cabinet ministers “dropped in” on Lee via a video conference to wish him a quick recovery.

During the video call, Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-jin and other cabinet ministers took a “wefie” with Lee (on the video screen), and put it up on his Facebook thereafter with the accompanying words: “Best not to disturb him in hospital!”

Singapore President Tony Tan today also learnt more about the surgery from Lee and his wife, Ho Ching. He posted on his Facebook: “We’re happy that the operation went well. PM was in good spirits and looking forward to being discharged. We hope that he will have a good rest before resuming his normal duties.”

Lee later posted that he “deeply appreciate everyone’s concern and good wishes”, and posted a picture of Dr Tony Tan and his wife who dropped by his ward earlier today. — TODAY
