NEW YORK, Jan 12 ― Intel broke the new world record for the most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles airborne simultaneously at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016, with the feat involving one hundred drones performing a spectacular light show above an orchestra playing Beethoven’s Sympony No.9.

Collaborating with Ars Electronica Futurelab in Hamburg, Intel brought together 15 artists and technology researchers to breathe life into the attempt. The publicity gimmick, dubbed “Drone 100”, was shot back in November 2015, with the video released by Guinness World Records earlier this month.

Naturally, the drones were controlled by a ground crew using PCs with Intel software. Sure, we’ve seen videos of mighty impressive drone tricks, but nothing quite as stunning as this.  Intel brought together 15 artists and technology researchers to breathe life into the publicity stunt, dubbed 'Drone 100'.
