KUCHING, July 7 — AirBorneo has opened ticket sales for its new Kuala Lumpur route, offering promotional one-way Economy Class fares from RM375 as the Sarawak carrier prepares to launch twice-daily services later this month.
The new route between Kuching International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 will begin operating on July 20 and represents the first milestone in the airline’s long-term network expansion strategy.
To mark the launch, AirBorneo is introducing its “Sarawakku Sayang” promotional fares, with one-way Economy Class tickets priced at RM375 all-in and Business Class fares starting from RM736 all-in, inclusive of airport taxes and fuel surcharges.
Bookings opened today at 7am and are available exclusively through AirBorneo’s official website and mobile app.
AirBorneo chief executive officer Megat Ardian Aminuddin said the Kuala Lumpur service marks an important step in the airline’s growth plans.
“The opening of ticket sales for our Kuala Lumpur route marks an important milestone in AirBorneo’s growth journey as we continue strengthening Sarawak’s connectivity with the rest of Malaysia and beyond,” he said in a statement.
Megat described Kuala Lumpur as “a strategic gateway” that expands access to domestic and international destinations while creating greater opportunities for tourism, trade, investment and business.
“As Sarawak’s airline, we are committed to connecting people, businesses and opportunities through safe, reliable and affordable air travel.
“The introduction of our ‘Sarawakku Sayang’ fares is part of that commitment, making travel more accessible while supporting Sarawak’s ambitions for stronger connectivity, tourism and sustainable economic growth,” he added.
AirBorneo said the Kuala Lumpur service will strengthen Sarawak’s connectivity, support tourism and economic development, and deliver safe, reliable and value-driven air travel for the communities it serves.
