NEW YORK, Dec 25 — Hoverboard nerds, have we got news for you! Private space company ArcaSpace has just unveiled the ArcaBoard. The good news is that the ArcaBoard actually hovers!

The bad news? It’s expected to cost an eye-watering US$19,900 (RM85,430), with shipment starting April 2016.

Unlike other hoverboards, the ArcaBoard is a fan-powered rectangle that relies on brute force to lift the platform, and can lift a person off the ground by almost a foot! The hoverboard is powered by 36 electric fans, generating 430 pounds of thrust — or 272 hoursepower — and is built using self-balancing technology to ensure a safe ride.

Another bummer is that the device’s battery can only power it for up to six minutes. US$19,900 for a six-minute thrill? Sounds ridiculous to us.The ArcaBoard is powered by 36 electric fans, generating 430 pounds of thrust, or 272 hoursepower.
