SAN FRANCISCO, Aug 20 — All of the pieces of the Tessel Supply Anti-Gravity Modular Backpack System can fit in the main pack, keeping items from rubbing against each other, or they can be used separately.
The units include a main backpack with ventilated straps and an adjustable sternum strap, a cylindrical pencil case, a faux-fur-lined laptop bag and a double compartment accessories bag.
Each bag is equipped with two magnetic fastener attachments, which can withstand a total load of up to 40lbs.
Indeed, a dramatically harmonised promotional video features a user running and jumping over rocky topology indicating that the sack is tough enough to withstand the great outdoors and sporting activities such as running or cycling.
The complete product can be pre-ordered for US$110 (RM347) with shipping expected in February 2015. Portions of the product can be pre-ordered separately.
As for the risk of magnets damaging electronics, company founders say that flash storage and LCD screens are safe, and although hard drives have been shown to undergo damage after long-term exposure to powerful magnets, the team vouches for their safety.
