KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 — Premier League side PKNS FC are almost in the FA Cup semi-finals after thrashing Sime Darby FC 4-0 in the first leg of the quarter-finals at Selayang Stadium near last night.

Matias Nicolas Jadue opened scoring for PKNS FC in the 18th minute before the club added three more goals in the second half via Juan Manuel Cobelli (54th, 78th minutes) and Mohd Nazrin Syamsul Bahri in the 83rd minute.

Super League defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) edged Police 1-0 at Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka from a penalty converted by Argentinian import striker Juan Martin Lucero in the 18th minute.

Referee Mohd Zohri Tajuddin awarded the penalty after Lucero was brought down in the penalty box by Police captain Mohd Faizal Muhammad.

At the Perak Stadium, Ipoh, Perak won 1-0 from an own goal by Kuala Lumpur defender, Helmi Remeli in the 7th minute.

For the record, three-time FA Cup champions, Kedah defeated Sabah 2-1 in a first leg quarter-final match at Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu on Friday.

Three FA Cup return matches will be held on April 1 while the second leg quarter-finals between JDT and Police will be held at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin the next day. — Bernama
