EDINBURGH, Aug 2 — National divers Ooi Tze Liang and Chew Yiwei had to be satisfied with third place without a medal in the men's 10m platform synchronised diving event here yesterday. 

The event at the Royal Commonwealth Pool only involved four countries with only the top two awarded medals.

"We did out best but luck was not on our side," said Tze Liang, who secured the bronze in the 3m springboard individual yesterday.

Tze Liang and Yiwei collected 387.39 points overall.

The gold medal was won by Dominic Bedggood and Matthew Mitcham of Australia with 399.54 points while the silver went to English pair Tom Daley and James Denny (399.36 points). 

Earlier, Tze Liang and Ahmad Amsyar had finished in fourth place in the 3mspringboard synchronised diving event with 353.31 points.

Jack Laugher and Chris Mears of England took the gold with 431.94 points.

Meanwhile, the national pairs of Cheong Jun Hoong-L Zhiayi and Nur Dhabitah Sabri-Ng Yan Yee finished in fifth and sixth place respectively in the women's 3m springboard synchronised.

This event was won by England's Alicia Blagg and Rebecca Gallantree.  — Bernama
