KUALA TERENGGANU, April 1 — T-Team imported defender Fabio Flor underwent surgery after injuring his Achilles tendon at the Subang Medical Centre yesterday.

T-Team Chief Operating Officer Mohd Shah Mat Zin said the Brazilian-born player suffered the injury during the match against Lion X11 at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday.

“God willing, everything went smoothly and Fabio is now in good condition,” he said when contacted by Bernama here, today.

According to Mohd Shah, Fabio will have to forget his hopes of playing in the remaining Super League matches since it normally takes between three to four months to fully recover.

He said T-Team skipper Marzuli Yusof was also injured in the same match and received six stitches on the head.

However, he said Marzuki’s injury was not too serious and could be fielded in the match against Pahang in Kuala Terengganu on Saturday.

In the meantime, he said T-Team suffered another injury setback yesterday when Wan Mohd Nor Alif broke his collar bone when playing with the Terengganu President’s Cup team.

Mohd Shah said T-Team would also rope in two new faces - Fadzli Baharuddin, who moved from Selangor PKNS and Nik Zul Aziz Nawawi from Terengganu - to beef up the squad.

He said the T-Team was also seeking to get players from the Terengganu President Cup’s team to fill the quota of three players during the second registration window offered by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). — Bernama
