KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 — The animated film Papa Zola The Movie will be released in cinemas across South Korea from September 2, MONSTA announced today.

MONSTA media director Faiz Zainal Aabidin said the company appreciates the confidence of South Korean distributors and cinemas in the film, as well as their decision to bring it to local audiences.

“For us, this confidence represents not only an opportunity to introduce Malaysian animation to a wider audience, but also recognition that our stories can resonate with audiences across cultures and borders,” he said in a statement today.

According to MONSTA, the achievement is significant, as it reflects international distributors’ confidence in the company’s work and the Malaysian values and culture it showcases.

Papa Zola The Movie is MONSTA’s second film to be released in South Korean cinemas, following BoBoiBoy The Movie in 2016.

“From ‘Papa’ to ‘Oppa’, Papa Zola is ready to greet audiences in South Korea with action, adventure and humour that will entertain and delight them,” he said.

After South Korea, Papa Zola The Movie is scheduled to be released in several other markets, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, on September 23, before expanding to Australia, New Zealand and India. — Bernama
