KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 — Just weeks after bringing in over 100 million yuan (RM65.5 million) revenue in her first livestream sale for the year, complaints have come pouring in about the quality of products promoted by Hong Kong celebrity Cecilia Cheung.

Purchasers are grumbling that the products received are not the same as promoted by the actress-singer during the event, hk.on.cc reported.

According to the portal, one buyer lodged a complaint during Cheung's livestream.

The seller, however, told the purchaser that one could return the product if they were unhappy with it.

Cheung, the portal noted, had gone all out during her livestreams, taking the trouble to entertain customers' requests although it was unclear what the requests were besides sharing stories of her private life.

It was previously reported that Cheung's livestream on Douyin saw 60 million people watching her sell a variety of goods that include dim sum, soup, rice noodles, sunglasses and massage chairs.

When she first appeared for a livestream sale on the Chinese version of TikTok last year, Cheung brought down its server with 27.6 million viewers.

At that time, she brought in over 61 million yuan in revenue (RM40 million), selling a variety of items including lip balm and rice.
