LOS ANGELES, March 14 — Ridley Scott is set to direct All the Money in the World, reports Deadline, which will tell the real-life story of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III.

The movie will follow Getty’s mother, Gail Harris, as she desperately tries to convince boy’s grandfather, oilman John Paul Getty Sr, to pay the ransom for her son.

However, although Getty Sr was reported to be the richest man in the world, he initially refused to pay.

Angelina Jolie was in talks for the role of Harris last week, but cannot commit to the role due to scheduling. Scott is now courting Natalie Portman, who was recently Oscar-nominated for playing another real-life figure in Jackie.

The director is also reportedly looking for another big name for the role of Getty Sr.

Production is set for Italy in May.

Scott’s upcoming movie, Alien: Covenant, will open on May 19. — AFP-Relaxnews
